The all-electric Battista by Automobili Pininfarina secured its place as the fastest accelerating production car in the world a new 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile record. The record setting runs were conducted in collaboration with Autocar India at Indore’s Natrax facility
With VBOX data systems in place to verify Battista’s performance, the 1/4 mile time of 8.55 seconds and1/2 mile result of 13.38 seconds were the recording setting times. The measured top speed was 358.03km/h – eclipsing the previous top speed record in India of 332km/h.
The Battista produces over 1,900hp and 2,340 Nm torque, with power distributed across all four wheels via four motors and through a unique torque vectoring system tuned by Automobili Pininfarina’s engineers at the luxury carmaker’s development centre in Italy.
In 2022 the Battista set a series of performance world records at its test base in Nardò, Italy, with 0-60 mph achieved in 1.79 second, 0-100 km/h completed in 1.86 seconds, 0-120 mph in 4.49 seconds and 0-200 km/h in just 4.75 seconds. Pininfarina can now add the 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile runs to its records book.
